I don't know why, I just guess because I've never been and because when it comes to dancing I know about zero to nothing...I just needed to vent and any advice? lol

just relax , be yourself and have fun - that's what it is suppose to be about! practice makes perfect ; don't get uptight about it ; breath and just enjoy yourself ; years from now , this will just be a brief memory ; keep things in perspective

it's not such a bad thing showing up at a semi-formal dance alone. You never know who you could meet while there and then that way, if you do come across somebody you actually like, you get to LEAVE the dance with them!!! If u wouldn't mind making a solo-entrance it won't be a problem. as long as u leave with someone, that's what really matters!! I'm not guaranteeing that you'll "get lucky" with whoever you leave with though. As for dancing, just do what comes natural and move to the music. DO NOT do the "ROBOT" whatever you do!! Good luck!!

I hear ya buddy. I have no idea how to dance but you know what you need to remember? Most of the human population doesn't know either so don't feel so lonely. I highly reccommend forgetting about what people think of you and concentrate on having a good time because in the end, who you are isn't made up of what other people think of you but of your actions. Besides, be confident and I guarantee you'll find a date there. ;) have fun!

I've gone to my middle school dances purely for the sake of eating food, drinking soda and chilling out with my friends, and not to dance... But that's not a semi-formal or formal dance, so... But you could do that at a semi-formal or formal dance too. So you could just chill out and relax with your buddies.

If you want to go then have at it. If you'll regret staying at home alone then don't. Next remeber that dancing is about interacting with people and of greatest importance looking silly. Seriously few people can get up and look cool when they fail thier arms and behinds willi nillie. However anyone can get up and look silly and make a fool of themselves. Quite frankly eveyone loves this and showing that your not affraid that your image is indanger or soemthing will make you and instant hit with the ladies.

Being nervous and excited can sometimes feel the same, especially since it's a new experience for you. I think you should just relax, it will be fun, you will be with your friends- and there's bound to be a group of girls there who came without dates as well. Good luck and have fun!!! :)

Yeah call your best guy friend to go with you. This way the girls will think your gay and they will feel comfortable around you and then you can take her to the bathroom and make out with her.
