The bible contains not only the word of God but also the word of the devil and his disciple. A. what constitute sin? if we talk about the definition of sin in the bible it is a transgression of the law (or the word) of God many people wonder what about the people who do not even know what is contain in the bible, how could they transgress it, but the bible has a statement about this: In Rome 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
Rom 2:12 for as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
Rom 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Rom 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Rom 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) “ In this verse it is clear that even though the person did not know what is contained in the law but God put a law on their heart ( for example; Bible said “Deut 5:17 Thou shalt not kill. Even though you didn’t know this verse, you know deep in your heart that it is wrong to kill someone)

The contributing factor to make one person sin is his willingness to do it and not to do it (committing and omitting) like in the verses “Jam 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” you will see in this verse that the very moment you know the good thing you must do and you willingly refuse it to do it not you are already committing a sin (so this is a perfect example of omitting and committing: you omitting to do good and committing not to do the good that you knew)
B. Who then is a sinner? to God.
the one who knew the right thing to do and do it not (if a person fall in this category the bible says that he/she is a sinner to God)

A sin is something that separates us from God. We are all sinners. There is no perfect person. God and Jesus were without sin.

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:3

Sin is both a nature and an act (or lack thereof). As a nature we are sinners because we are born into the human family and have spiritually inherited the fallen nature. As sinners we therefore commit sins (as acts or omissions). Paul said sin is "missing the mark" - the "mark" being Christ Jesus. We do not have Divine sinless blood in ourselves - so we "miss the mark" because Christ did - thus the inherited nature of sin. We commit sins because of this fallen nature (we sin - the act - because we are sinners - the nature) therefore we miss the mark again - because Christ never committed sin (act or omission). That is why we need a Savior. Anyone who does not accept and live in Christ is a sinner. When we accept Him as Savior, He changes the nature of sin within us. When we live in Him as Lord, He cleanses us from all unrighteousness, purifying us to be like Him so that we don't do the acts of sin and readily forgives us when we fail.

How can you have "no doubt" that the bible is "god's word" if you have not read it?
It clearly explains what constitutes a sin and a sinner.
You might want to read your bible, before being so sure that it is true.
You might be surprised what else you'll find in there, though...

If you believe in the divinity of the Bible for whatever strange reason, why not just read it? It clearly spells out what the various authors considered vice and virtue. Start with the Ten Commandments and work you way up through the Epistles.

Breaking God's commandment is sin...

Scripture says 'ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God"

" There is none righteous ; no not one"
All have been born into sin...(except of course Jesus).

The Solution to sin?

The Sacrifice made by Jesus Christ is God's solution to the sin problem...thru Christ all can be forgiven ...and receive the free gift of eternal life
