Plan a trip around the country if you can. It aint that hard, our country is not that big. Start in Dublin , check out a few of the theatres ,pubs and if you are lucky ,get to go to a hurling or gaelic football match in croke park. Well worth it ! Even though I am Irish ,I have been to plenty of soccer matches , and a college football game in the US , but the atmosphere is electric.

From there, hit down the country, and stop and see kilkenny castle, rock of cashel in tipperary. Then go on down to west cork and kerry and the scenery will take the breath away. Its fantastic ! Then go up to Dingle in north kerry and experience the social life, again, in summer , you might get a festival down there !
After that , my advice is to go up to "Bunratty" in County Clare. It has a castle and a made up village and that would let you see how people hundreds of years ago in this country. THe castle is amazing too.
Finally , hit up the west to Galway .This is where you go for great nightlife ,scenery and have a good time.
Hope your trip is a good one over here :)

There are tons of good things. In Cork and Kerry, the Blarney Stone is supposed to give you elloguence if you kiss it. Galway has a good theatre. Connemara is a great historic marble region. North Ireland has the Giant's Causeway. The BEST is the Cliffs of Moher near Galway.

most of the locals that live around the local area where blarney castle are all old people, and to get to kiss the blarney stone you have to hike it up some old stone steps and besides first walk about a mile from the main entrance, and its locked at night.

nobody pee's on it.....just an old joke to get americans riled up.

Try to get up to the Cliffs of Moore near Gallway - tons of castles - if you can try and go to a book store ( new or used) and pick up a travel guide - it will give you some great ideas
