He's a minature poodle.
Also could it be possible to potty train him with a cat litter?

Well, for starters, Poodles aren't from France. And there are three sizes. Which one do you have?

It is possible to litter box train dogs. I'd expect that Mini Poodles would be easy, as they're generally pretty smart!

We breed high end standards.

Poodles are the smartest of all breeds. So even if you have a little one, he will need enough to keep him busy or he could become a yipper. Nothing more annoying.

Despite the claims of several other countries, France has now been officially recognized as the country of the Poodles origin though some authorities attribute Germany as the country of origin. There are also references to other dogs of similar type in Russia and several other southwestern European nations. The Germans probably gave them the name Pudel, which means to splash in water.

Originally bred as a retriever and flushers of birds the Poodle became quite popular among French aristocracy and was designated the national dog of France. They are wonderful bird and water dogs!

I can guarantee you my experiences are different from yours because ours are big friendly farm dogs who happen to have pedigrees and breed exquisite puppies! We are near the city and the dogs run loose on our 6 acres as "protectors of all they survey". I would not want to be on their bad side when they are protecting.

They have wonderful beautiful bright natures. They are smart dogs. We have Howard who is 10. He is marked like a doberman pinshcer but is a poodle. His markings make him unfit for show but no one ever figures out what he is at first glance. He thinks he is a human and is very needy for attention.

Then is is first wife, Betty. Betty is 8 and has had 6 litters of puppies. She is now retired. She is black and very elegant. She sits with her paws crossed in front of her and is very much the lady. A very sweet temper. She follows Howard.

Last is Dorothy. Dorothy is 3 and is a liver brown poodle with golden eyes. She is just the most quality dog ever. Her temprament is wonderful When her coat is long it is every shade of blonde and red and brown in the universe. She is playful and friendly and a delight. As newest of the harem, she always plays submissive, even if she does know how to raise a ruckus.

All three dogs run wild and protect our birds from the eagles who float overhead looking for loose farm animals. All three dogs are friendly. I have NEVER yet found hair on the floor. The occasional dead quail... (cry), but not hair and shedding. They truly enrich our lives. I cannot imagine life without Howard and the girls!

Also amazing is, when one of the girls has had a litter, the first visit might be a little dicey, but within days all three dogs are taking time with the puppies and Mom. Last litters the two girls whelped within a week and switched nursing duties a few times.

These are smart dogs who need to be intellectually challenged.
That is why so many new "mixed breeds" are partly poodle.

There is a reason they were the dog of the aristocracy for so many years!

You will have so much fun. As for the training with a litter box, I am sure it has been done. Check with your vet or some local behavioural specialists or trainers.
