That is the nature of a bored dog. She sounds very bored.
She is not old, she is barely middle aged and should still have plenty of zip. Speak to your vet. Perhaps it is the quality or type of food you give her. Perhaps she needs a different regime entirely. Cut down on her food and take her out more. All dogs love walks. We are the masters, and if a dog is overweight or lazy, it is our fault for not keeping them busy enough, of over feeding them. Get her addicted to a Kong then go have her chase it. You stand on top of the hill and the thing bounces forever tiring your dog.
Thing is Labs are a dog prone to laziness and obesity as they get older. The owners should be aware of this to prevent it from becoming a problem. That is why they breed so well to poodles, producing the Labradoodle, a dog that eats well and is hypoallergenic and has a high energy level. Poodles under eat and never slow down. And do not shed.
You do not put a dog to sleep because she no longer entertains you! That is terribly cruel and short sighted. Check with the vet about her health and diet.
by the way, "But shes never wants to do nothing nomore" is a double negative. It means the opposite of what you meant to say .A few grammar lessons would help.

If she was a puppy in 2000 she's only about 7 or 8 years old...hardly an old dog.
Do you play with her? Take her out and throw a ball for her? She needs exercise or else she'll be lethargic.
Maybe she has a health issue, have you taken her to the vet for a checkup? Dogs can't tell you what's wrong with them...so if you see a change in behavior you need to have her looked at.
You don't have a pet, and faithful companion, put down because she doesn't play anymore...that's just cruel. My lab is 11 years old. He will still play some, but his back legs are getting stiff and he's just getting old and tired. But he's a member of the family and he loves to come lay at my feet and just be with me. That's good enough for me.

awww shes sounds bored my friend! maybe life is gettin her down!!
depending how old your dog is, this may be normal for her age, other than that , take her out more often for walks, they dnt have to be long walks, just a short walk, but make them more often, to give her more exercise!
also depending on her age, she may have menopause right now, makin her feel low and down most of the time! u need to do more with her, dont let her feel neglected! im not sayin that u are neglecting her before u go mental at me lol! im just sayin do more with ur dog my friend! walks, play with balls etc! im sure she will be fine =^) then again u do say she was a puppy in 2000 so ur obviously neglectin the poor little thing! DO MORE!!! walk her, play more! take her to the beach and throw some sticks or something, for christ sake man, do something, its not rocket science!! men like u wind me up lol!!! u dnt deserve pets if u dnt know how to keep them active!!

She may have health problems--take her to the vet and have her checked out. But for goodness' sake, don't put her to sleep just because she sleeps a lot. She is older, granted, and she won't act like a puppy, except on rare occasions, but if she's really doing nothing but sleep, get her checked out. I would only put a dog to sleep if it was obvious that she was suffering, and there was nothing I could do to prevent it. Our dog is diabetic and blind, and was sleeping all day like yours, but now we give her insulin twice a day, and she has the house memorized. Whoever coined the phrase "it's a dog's life" never met Molly. She's the most loving dog I know, and full of pep. We have a foot of snow on the ground, and she strains at the leash trying to get out to romp around in it.

I think you should just try to encourage her to get up and play some more. I don't think putting her down would be an option for a 7 year old dog. I have a dog who is 8 and she is lazier than lazy but I would never put her down because of that.

7 is Not old for a lab. I think the dog is bored and lonely or sick. Labs need lots of TLC and attention and exercise. Mine is going to be 12 soon. He still loves to go to "work" outside with my DH.
Take the dog to the vet for a check up. Spend some play time with the dog and take her for walks every day.
She's not ready to be euthanized.

For 1 thing shes not old. Shes only 6 or 7 years old. Labs live to be 10-14 years. She sounds like she has a problem. Dogs get like that if they are sick or in pain. She may have worms, heart worms, low blood sugar. Who knows. Take her to the vet usually its nothing. You wouldnt want to put her to sleep just because she has worms.

You should only put a dog doen if there is nothing more you can do for their pain. Try to give her some excercise. She sounds like she may be bored. Has she recently had a check-up at the vet. If not, I recommend it! Hope this helps!

OK first of all don't put your dog to sleep just cause she sits around all day!!!! THAT WOUDL BE SO SAD! Maybe if you live in an apartment thats the reason. Theres no where for your dog to run around. Start taking her for walks and exercise more. You'll see a difference. =]

Well, maybe you can buy her some that makes dogs more active. Also I give my dogs some hot-dog pieces and it makes them want to play. I don't know why, but my oldest dog whos 10 acts like she's 4! Try that, maybe it will work. Good luck!
