least safe time is about 13-16 days before your next period will start. most safe time -- none really exsists!!
i need to correct one misconception - ovulation does not occur 14 days AFTER your period but rather 14-15 days BEFORE your next period ... which is why it is so hard to predict (and therefore difficult for some women to conceive). the reason you have a period is because you ovulated, but the egg was not fertilized. as a result, it is discharged from your body as menstrual fluid.
if you are regular, you can more accurately gauge when you will ovulate, but so many things can affect our bodies that no method of tracking is infallible.
also, in case you were not aware, if you are taking the pill as your form of birth control, you generally do not ovulate when you are on it. the 4th week of pills is a placebo (non drug) and allows your body to have a period without ovulation taking place. however, since you may sometimes still ovulate, the active ingredients in the pill cause an unwelcoming environmnt in the uterus so even a fertilized egg will not implant.

There's is no safe way to have sex. An egg lives for 24 hours but sperm can live up to 5 days the best advise I can give you is don't have sex until your ready to have a baby. But if you really want then just practice safe sex OK safe sex is the way to go either its condoms or birth control just protect yourself and this is coming from a guy that has a girlfriend that is 13 weeks pregnant as you can tell i failed in the safe sex but I'm 21 and i think my ready its very scary so if i was you i would wait... Eh, most women are fertile about 14 days after the day their period starts. So you're LEAST likely on your period and a couple days after. But I got pregnant on the last day of my period, so you never know what your body's doing...not everyone has the same cycle, so it's going to vary from woman to woman. I'm glad to know you're using protection...the best way is to double up on condoms AND the pill, because any one method can fail, and better safe than sorry, particularly when a human life is involved. Best of luck to you, and keep on being safe!

Technically I think you are more likely to get pregnant in between cycles. But you can get pregnant at any time. Even using protection. Stay safe!

your ovulation time is from the first day of your period till fourteen days after. in example if your period starts on the 1st but ends on the 5th then you are still ovulating till the 15th. doesnt matter how long your period last.

Its different for every woman depending on how long your cycle is and how regular you are. It's called Natural Family Planning and isn't very reliable.

You could use an ovulation thermometer to lessen your risk of getting pregnant.
