In the UK, oddly enough, the answer is often yes. The reason is that the railway companies tend to cram in as many seats as possible in 2nd class and some seats are beside window pillars and you cannot see out. That doesn't happen in 1st class

no but you get a bed to sleep in......

I took a train from Boston to Chicago in a first class room.. it was good because it has its own bathroom, and its only like 20 dollars more than a ticket flying coach.

But anyways, Some of the same people that were getting on train at boston were going to chicago on the same train with me, but they were in COACH for like 36 HOURS!!!!! I didn't even know that this train would have coach seats for such a long ride...but WOW I cant believe they would be able to be in coach for that long. That is why you should go first class, because you get your own room.

Not on Amtrak. In fact, in first class you're in a sleeper on one side of the car. In coach you can see both sides through the window.

However, Amtraks have lounges available to all. The lounges on the western trains (and the Capitol Limited) have excellent views.

Never been in first class but I would take a guess that the views the same wherever you sit lol xx

Bit of carpet and better leg room is all that is better in first class
