This is a different model from the one I reviewed earlier, but the specs and flaws are pretty much the same.
Here's the specs, straight from SVP's own site:

* Again, it's not 12-megapixels as advertised but only 5MP.
* No optical zoom, only 8x digital. So if you zoom in at all you sacrifice image quality. At maximum zoom, this camera only records 5MP/8= 0.6 megapixel.
* No mention who makes the lens - expect poor quality glass or even plastic. The fact that they say 'fixed focus' doesn't help.
* They don't provide a maximum ISO setting. This leads me to believe that it tops out at ISO 100 or 200 (useless at dusk and in low light situations.)
* And it's a bad sign that no reputable bricks & mortar store carries SVP cameras, and that no respectable review site lists the 12VX... or any of SVP's other 15 models.
I'm sorry dude, but this was one auction you didn't want to win.
