If you keep flatulence held in for a long time, will you suffer ill effects?

Like say you're at a work meeting or in class and you feel the urge, but you know it will be loud and smelly...is it unhealthy to hold it in?

holding in gas can make your stomache swell and give you pains=ask to be excused from class or meeting and go to bathroom to let it go

aside from the discomfort, no, it won't kill you, but I agree with the last responder, ask to be excused and go to the bathroom.

yes it is if u hold it in for to long u can die.
