Rogue nations, rogue leaders, martyrs, people not afraid to die to carryout their cause....hmmm, i think the instability of putting nukes in their hands raises the spectre of global suicide....but that's just me.

I don't think nuclear proliferation per se creates instability. It is when these filthy Islamic psycho rogue regimes start threatening to wipe other states off the map (like that stupid f u c k head from Iran) that it causes global discontent.
There should be a special provision in the UN law - "No Muslim country shall have the nuke"!!! LOL hahahaha

I think Ndeily said it right. Think about it, a notably hostile country like Iran or N. Korea gains the ability to virtually wipe out the countries surround it with little or no resistance. Those countries then use this weapon or threat of its use to force its neighbors or anyone else for that matter to do what they want (Like the US did to Japan to end WW2) this causes that political instability. Both Iran and N Korea right now are using the threat of developing nuclear weapons to create that instability in the world.

To begin with, it encourages countries competing for influence to gain nuclear weapons for themselves to avoid being at a tactical or strategic disadvantage. Also, it diverts massive amounts of resources into the nuclear weapons programs that might be used elsewhere. last but not least, the possession of nuclear weapons can prop up tyrranical governments that might otherwise be taken down by their neighbors or their own people, and keeps the "bad actor" regime a viable threat.

The instability comes when the countries that acquire them aren't stable, ie Iran, and have threatened to use them if and when they get them. Don't you think we should take them at their word? Or when governments friendly to the terrorist movement is able to give or sell one to said movement, pretty scary stuff if you ask me and very unstable!

Imaginary scenario: Wait a minute...some kids are fighting outside...let me go give them some weapons so they'll stop and play nice.
