My b/f took me out to the best steak place last night. I had a great sirloin. Problem is that it was HUGE! Real thick (about 1", maybe more), and big. So I have a TON leftover.

I wanted to possible cut it into slivers and put them in pasta. Any ideas?

Heat them up and put the slivers into linguine with pepper, sauteed mushrooms and red peppers and a light alfredo sauce.

Mmmmm.

Yeah me too, wish I was your neighbor. Not liking beef puts you in a odd situation. There are hundreds of things you can do with leftover steak. Donating some of it to neighbors is one way. However, many people are non-trusting in this day and age do the 'sickos' in the world, so it is hard to say if they would accept it. I would call the people that visited, and let them know you have way to much leftover and offer to deliver a couple pounds to those that accept your generous offer. Other than that I can give you a way that is quite tasty with leftover steak and your family may like it. Slice up the amount of steak for your family, and set it aside. Slice up an onion and a sweet bell pepper and saute that until limp and maybe slightly browned. Add in the beef to heat it. Any juices in the pan you can pour off and then pour one jar of CheezWhiz on the steak and veggies and stir to mix and heat. Warm up flour tortillas...whole wheat is great....and use the mixture in the pan to make a delicious steak burrito. The onions and peppers and cheezwhiz will help to diminish the flavor of the steak for your family and still give you the needed protein.

Go with French Dip Sandwiches!!!

Slice the steak across the grain into thin slices, put on a crusty hard roll and serve with some packaged Au Jus (I love the Knorr brand) a veggie on the side and a leafy green salad........YUM!! That's what leftover roast beef/steak becomes in our house.....At any rate, Enjoy!!!!

First take the steak and slice it fairly thin

Take a pan and heat a teaspoon of olive oil
saute 1 medium onion chopped 2 cloves garlic minced until onions become transparent add your steak and if any other left over meat if desired. add 2 cans crushed tomatoes and one small can tomatoe paste. begin to simmer add italian seasoning and 1/2 tsp of crushed red pepper. simmer for 15- 20 min. Best if served over Linguini.

You can slice it thin and put it on top of a green spinach salad with red onion, mushrooms, and crumbled blue cheese.

You can make fajitas or quesadillas.

Or you can cut it into strips and saute them with green onion, mushrooms, peas, etc. and teriyaki. Serve over rice or noodles.
