When you want to take the key out of a car with a manual transmission, you need to push a little button near the key to get the key to rotate back far enough to remove it. What is this for?

It is a requirement that you had to have the vehicle in Park before the key can be removed and the steering column locked. This was due to dummies turning off the key and locking the steering at 50 MPH....DOOH!

So this is the fix for a manual transmission.

All cars have some sort of safety in place required to remove a key completely from ignition, some a button others you just push key inward and rotate rest of way to off position.

Every vehicle I've owned has had a manual transmission, and none of them have had this button. You do have to push the key in, though.
