I would bet on at least $1,000 on the low end. Shipping a car by boat (usually by container) isn't cheap. Companies do charge different prices and offer different services, however, so some research can go a long way. Call a couple places that ship cars from the U.S. to Hawaii and ask for a cost estimate. It only takes a few minutes and doesn't cost anything. Here's one I know of http://www.shipcaracrosscountry.com/

TransportReviews.com shows one 5 out of 5 star rated company shipped a vehicle from CA to HI for $1075.
Ratings and reviews of other auto transport companies that ship from CA to HI can be found on http://www.transportreviews.com/
Hope this helps.

i would say, go with Matson, i paid about $975 to ship my car. You can find something a little bit cheaper (not too much cheaper) but you have to think of the quality. Matson shipped my car FAST. It only took a week & it came with NO damage, NO scratches. Plus, the service was professional & helpful.
GOOD LUCK!
