More importantly, are you drinking enough water to hydrate your skin from the inside? The human body requires at least 2 liters of water every 24 hours to maintain good hydration, of internal and external organs.
For additional external moisture I find Albolene cream very effective.

It not all about the lotion, but about the weather and your water too. The chemical in our water really dry our skin out. You first need to get a good water filtration system for your bath/shower, and you also need to be drinking better water. And I do not mean bottled, because most of the time it is about the same if not worse than tap. Then lotions can be brought into the picture, you really need something that has no alcohol in it, most lotions do, as the lotion dries the alcohol dries the skin and you need more lotion (they really have us there UH!). I am going to give you a web site that I believe has the best water systems and skin products. Hope you find what your looking for.

Dry skin is a big thing. One of the problem is because we wash in chlorinated water everyday. Chlorine is a bleaching agent and it strips away the natural skin oil. All the cream and lotion we put on is not the same and it is a after application. I do have dry skin myself and I use shower filter. It really help is you case is same as mine. Use shower filter and also apply the cream to see it that works. I myself uses shower filter and finds it to work for me, but still I use cream.

Pacquin's hand cream is the best. You can special order it from WalMart Pharmacy. Don't get the medicated or the aloe kind, get the original kind. It is fantastic. You'll love it!

Also, if you have REALLY dry skin you can also order pure lanolin from WalMart Pharmacy. It is pricey but it is the most healing of anything. It is very thick and goopy, but the warmth of your skin will soften it after you apply it to the most problematic areas.
