It might have something to do with nutrition. Your generation SHOULD be much better nourished than your grandparents were, and your grandparents' nutrition might have had a bearing on your parents' eyesight development before they were born. But did the older generations wear glasses AT YOUR AGE, or did they begin to wear them after 40 or 50, when many people start to lose their close-up focus?

When I started to be past 40, it got harder to see clearly up close. Then I started to use reading glasses just for small stuff. My distant vision was still above 20 20.after about 60 I got more far sightd. Now I am 70 and wear contacts for reading in one eye and distance in the other eye.
You don't care about me, I know. This is just an example of what is normal. You can expect the same. It is because your eyes get older the lenses get stiffer and it is hard for the muscles to flex them. Therefore it is just simpler to wear glasses or contacts. If you are near sighted, you can get rk but if you do, you will eventially need reading glasses. Just be thankful for now. Glasses are a pain, but you don't even know if you have xtended wear contacts

You got lucky. My husband and I have bad eyesight and our son has better than 20/20 vision. Anyway, it's recessive genes.
When you become 40 though, you will need reading glasses.
