Yes, I want to have grandchildren. (That's the reason for it)

edit: Wtf? Why do people still think it's a choice? How come there are so many ignorant people?

I have a friend who is a born lesbian, peace

further edit: I don't think it's a defect. Surely, their genes encountered some "mutations", but they behave, eat, drink,.. etc. just like any normal person, so no, it can't be a defect

I suspect this question was asked with the asker's tongue firmly planted in his cheek.

1) Homosexuality is not a 'birth defect.'
2) Homosexuality is not a choice. It is not a lifestyle. It is an orientation the same way that left-handedness is an orientation.

I find if funny that so many people who have such strong opinions about homosexuality ("It's a choice!") are not gay themselves. Um, okay... How do you know that homosexuality is a choice? (Quoting the Bible is not an answer. The Bible is so full of holes of logic, style, historic origin and mistranslation that you might as well quote the Sears Catalog from 1912) I mean, did the Sexual Orientation Fairy appear to you at age 12 and give YOU a choice? No? Then how the frack do you think that is what happened to us?

I should rephrase the above statement. I WOULD find this line of reasoning funny if it didn't lead to so many gay bashings and discriminatory laws.

Bottom line: my relationship with my partner does not affect you any more than your relationship with your wife affects me. Stop trying to tell the world that I 'chose' this 'aberration.' Because, really now: you have zero leg to stand on here.

If about 10 % of the population is gay and it's a birth defect, does that make being born with red hair (about 8%) a birth defect also?

Heh, your gonna have a lot of flustered queens as a result of that Defect terminology.

I don't think it is a defect or a choice, it is just something that happens in nature. Its kinda like asking if you would want a cure for your kid if you found out that he was going to be a red head.

I think, if I had a choice in the matter, I would choose for my kids to be strait, just because life is a lot easier for strait kids. They get to grow up without stigma and can marry pretty much whoever they want. Gay kids don't get that luxury, they are force into a life of ridicule and condemnation by Gods chosen people.

No, never. You dont have the right to change the person you give birth to and nor should you. Homosexuality is not a defect but perhaps could be seen as a more difficult road of life. Either way, your child has a right to become who he/she is destined to become.

"the homosexual birth defect" - what a bunch of nonsense. Whatever genitalia a person is born with is what they are sexually. There are very, very rare instances where a person can be born with an external penis and an internal womb but an internal scan will show the ability for sperm production or not. Being "born" a homosexual is one of the biggest lies of satan to mankind since the "apple" in the garden of Eden.

I've never heard it put that way - a homosexual birth defect.

Since homosexuality is a desire to be intimate with members of the same sex, it won't manifest itself until puberty or later. How in the world would one know in advance?

And by that point, the person involved would be making the choice for him or herself.

I think the jury is still out on whether this is something inherited, learned, influenced or just happens.

Homosexuality "birth defect" means that the child would be born capable of making babies homosexually.

I don't see that happening.

Everyone is born with the ability to make babies heterosexually, the homosexuality comes later in life as a learned behavior.

Homosexual birth defect? If you are refering to the gene that makes people born homosexual, you are out of luck there also. The scientist that "discovered" said gene, had a hidden agenda. And when hypothesis was scrutinized bt members of the scientific comunity, his theories did not stand up! No matter how you try to justify sin, it is still sin.

Even though technically, since homosexuality is 'unnatural' in the sense that it goes against the 'purpose of life', i.e., reproduction of the species, there is nothing socially wrong with homosexuality. There are enough heterosexual people in the world to make up for the loss of reproduction with the others. One should allow their child to choose if they would rather be 'normal' or be as they were born. It should ultimately be their choice.

It is not a birth defect. Every child is a blessing - no matter how they are created and what characteristics they have. No. I would not want a cure for my child. How can you cure something when there is nothing wrong?
