How can you build an egg drop machine?

Question

It has to be built out of 10 straw, 10 elastic bands, 10 paper clips, 2 meters of tape, 2 pieces of construction paper and 3 sheets of toilet paper. It also has to be used twice and fit inside a 25 by 25 by 25 cm cube.

The egg cannot break and must be drop from a height of 25 feet. Also, the egg must be taken out of the container within 30 secs

one of the best constructions to prevent dmg is a 2 box system where 1 box is suspended inside the other with 8 rubber bands one to each corner (youve got those \o/)

you can probably use the straw to make the containers, for this bundle several straws together with tape. connect them together with the tape aswell making 2 cubes. 1 fits inside the other.

use sheats of paper to make the inner cube closed, fill it with toilet paper and and egg.

The key to this is always making a parachute for the egge. I'd use the construction paper to make the biggest possible parachute.

Use the straws to make the 'frame' of the structure that the egg will sit in, and use the toilet paper and some shredded paper to make a soft pillow beneath the egg.

You could also use the paperclips to make a chain so that you drop the egg from the tip of the chain, thus reducing the amount of distance it has to fall.

Go to a chinese restaurant and borrow theirs....the one near my house makes excellent "egg drop soup".
