I guarantee that there are very few guarantees in life. :)
The dog's discipline depends entirely on the discipline and dedication of the owner. Of course it will pee and poo everywhere if it has inconsistent training. Having a puppy, you will have to resign yourself to accidents for awhile. That's just the way it is. It will take many, many garden sessions. You have to try and antipate BEFORE the puppy needs to go so it will avoid messing in the house altogether. The puppy should not be allowed to roam the home unsupervised, ever, until it is trained. This will require you to spend time with the puppy.
It is up to the owner to teach communication to the pup/dog first. The best way to establish this is routine. Routine, routine, routine. Reward puts a punctuation mark on the desired behavior. It may take 100 times or 1000 times, but routine will eventually be the best teacher. And the routine is completely reliant on the owner.
So your dog's success completely depends upon your dedication to its success.

First....study, do some research on the dog. Dogs just don't just do their number everywhere....but at first you will have to train them that there is a place and time to do their number..as a puppy, they are like kids...they will go when they have to..not when you have scheduled the walk. so be patient.
The shedding of hair will depend on the breed...terriers generally don't shed..so they are a good breed if you like to wear black...i myself have a Golden Retriever...so they are high maintenance...and not so bright...but she is part of the family, can imagine the home without her.
Dogs are amazing creatures, they know when you are down and can brighten your day with a sniff and a lick, they can also anger you to the point of snapping...this can happen if they decide to rip apart your couch (Sofa for you Americans) while you are away... but in the end..it was just a couch* and she/he is just a dog..
Love em and they will love you back unconditionally.

No there is no garentee that they wont pee n poop everywhere. But i can give u a tip. If you buy one u have 2 train it while its little so it wont pee n poop everywhere. Or you can tie it up outside so it wont run off and you wont have 2 worry. But if you want a house dog you buy a cage for your dog.

You can train a dog fairly quickly to not poop and pee insides and as far as malting it depends on the type of dog.

Untrained pets will do their business where ever and when ever. They do not know any better. Unless you can get a pe thats already trained, you will have to forgo the idea or get ready for a few months of hard work. Molting should only be happening during the spring and fall when their coats change. There are NO guarantees that any pet will train.

i have two small dogs, and it all comes down to training, when they were puppies, we bought a rubber matt with a edge around the sides, (boot mat) and put it by the door and with a lot of patients we eventially got them to pee and poo on the rubber matt at the door, we received the puppies at 8 weeks old and in one month they were trained, yes they did make mistakes, and such but for the most part they were pretty good, when the summer arrived we made a pen with a small door, close to our own front door, we would open the door and we guided them to the pen door and closed it , 7 months later we open our front door and they go automatically to the pen, does their business and comes back to the door to be let in, when they want to go out they lick our faces when we are asleep until we get up, and they wine by the front door if we are awake

ya but you have a greater chance of it not peeing or pooping ever where if u trained to use the rest room out side.. the malt you just have to clean after it with a vaccum so that you can keep it that would get rid of that problem for your parents

Sure they do, if they are not trained. You must be consistent, and not mean in your housebreak training.Never allow the dog to be unsupervised, and always take the dog out after eating, or drinking. Also dogs shed rather than moult. There are many breeds who will not shed excessively. Try a short haired breed.
