She lived with me in 2006 until she died June 20. She had income from Social Security. Do I have to include her income?

Yes you can claim her and if her only income was from Social Secuity you would not include that on your return

If she had income from other sources you might have to file a final return for her

If she met the requirements for you to claim her during the time of 2006 that she was alive, then yes you can claim her. You would not report her income on your return, and if the ss was her only income, there would be no need to file a final return for her.

If she lived with you in 2006, you can claim her. Her income will have to be claimed, but only a portion of it will be taxable.

First your father is approximately to do his 2007 tax return, no longer his 2008. He on no account would have claimed your mom as a "based". She is his companion and not in any respect a based. on your fathers case the main suitable submitting prestige to insure he gets some super advantages of your deceased mom is as follows: for his 2007 taxes married submitting mutually; for his 2008 taxes married submitting mutually; for his 2009 taxes qualifying widower; for his 2010 taxes qualifying widower (assuming he would not remarry in those tax years). On his 2008 taxes (which he will do in 2009) he would desire to write deceased next on your mothers call. He makes use of all of the traditional varieties he consistently has. He gets the earnings of married joint for his 2008 return in spite of whilst for the period of the year she surpassed. My condolences on your loss.
