I have only visited the dentist once in my entire life - when I was eight. My teeth are healthy, I brush twice a day and use mouthwash and never have a problem. So.. is this abnormal?

I think its good to see a dentist for a check up every six months even if you aren't having any problems as they also check your mouth and tongue for cancer, also if you are a regular at the dentist they will get to know your mouth and spot any changes quickly

You are very lucky. Most people can't go that long without visiting their dentist. Just because you think your teeth are healthy and you don't think you have a problem doesn't mean that it's true. Depending on how old you are, you could have periodontal disease or worse. Or you could be fine. Go to the dentist for gosh sakes. (The Tooth Fairy would never lie to you ! )

I went to the dentist when I was 11 and again when I was 31.

At 31 I required no fillings and the dentist said judging by my level of plaque he was astonished it had been 20 years since I'd last had my teeth cleaned.

I still have no fillings. Good genes and proper brushing.
I'll probably go again when I'm 51.

No its not abnormal a lot of people never visit the dentist ;You don't say how old you are but wouldn`t be a good idea now to have regular checkups to keep your teeth in good condition

My partner only saw the dentist when he was at school, he's 40 now. He says he'll go to the dentist when they hurt. So no you're not abnormal. Me on the other hand has to go every 3 months, mine are pretty bad!

I'm no dentist but it doesn't sound abnormal at all, it sounds fine. However, you really should go for regular check-ups; yearly or half-yearly. What may feel and look fine on the outside may be hiding problems below the surface.

ha ha i love your questions they are quite amusing, healthy teeth and an 18 year old toothbrush your doing well.
By the way how do you know you have no problems if you never go to the dentist. An inspection could prove otherwise!!!

I wish i was this lucky! Are you still in your twenties? it maybe because you are young or just genetics. Might be worth visiting a dentist though as there can be unnoticed problems such as gum problems.
