So, my boyfriend and I live together, and his little brother is coming to visit us tonight. He has ADHD and is on depression medication, and I think some other medications. I feel bad because I dont know how to act around him sometimes. He is usually really down about everything, and telling us about how he gets in trouble all the time, and does drugs ect. He's 16 by the way. I dont have anything against him, I was that age too once. I really want him to be able to trust me, and to feel normal around me, but I dont know how to come across to him like that. Hes a rebel in his family, and my boyfriend is trying to help him out, by hanging out with him. He looks up to my boyfriend SO much. And I feel like he doesnt really care for me. I've never done anything to make him feel like that though to my knowledge. I guess I'm just asking if anyone has advice for me, Id really appreciate it :) thanks so much!

Just be yourself and keep doing what you are doing...and it wouldn't hurt for you to hang out with him too, if you and your boyfriend are going to go out take him a long (not every time) just for a change for him...don't despair things will change eventualy he just needs time to figure out that he can trust you it's not going to happen overnight.

The best thing you can do is be your self no more no less. At that age you just hate fake people wait never mind I still hate fake people 5 years later...... Yeah be your self would be my best guess.

Act normally around him. Let him know you are there for him too.

Ask his opinions on things. Like what should we have for dinner? What's it you like? Try and make him the center of your attentions when he's around.

yeah just act normal
you can always tell if people are acting weird even if you dont know them very well
