Let me explain something to you saying things "people in the military deserve to die for being stupid enough to serve" that is freedom of speech, freedom of speech is a right! "Those soldiers" give their life everyday protecting your right to say such hateful things!& everytime you abuse your rights as an American you are basically spitting on a soldiers grave!Protesting at a fallen soldiers funeral COME ON! They don't play the politics they just do their jobs! For those of you who are not even citizens..they are dying for your right to be in a free country! For you soldiers, my message to you is this...not everyone takes the rights that you are fighting & dying for so lightly. It makes me cry to know you are treated in this way..if I had one wish it would be that I could take all your hurt and pain away that you recieved protecting me. When I see a soldier I think of what you & your family has given up for me & I appreciate it. Please know that someone loves you and thanks you....

My husband is in Balad right now. He may not be fighting but he's "supporting the mission" working on C-130s. This is his second deployment and he has missed both our son’s birth and now his first birthday. I've seen many statements like; "All soldiers are murderers" or "I don't even care because they kill people on a regular basis." There's also a MySpace group called "F*ck the Troops." It breaks my heart.

I took some time to research these anti-troop groups and I find it so sad. Many of the sites show *some of our service members being cruel to animals, rude to the Iraqi citizens, and even bragging about who they have killed. Unfortunately, there ARE solders like that. Unfortunately, troops aren't perfect and just like in the US there are some weird ones with serious psychological problems. These are the ones our military can do without.

The people who choose to watch these videos and generalize ALL of the military men and women are IGNORANT and BIGOTS. They are acting no better then a person who calls ALL black people gangsters, welfare cases, or n*ggers. [These are not my views it’s just an example.]

Many soldiers come back with issues because of what they have seen or done. Many will never be the same and live in shame of what was their duty. Several of these websites suggest the soldiers go AWOL because of the war in protest on the war. Well, I’m sorry, my husband will NOT go AWOL risking our FAMILY’S future merely because we are at war.

My question for these bigots is; what are YOU doing to get us out of Iraq? What are YOU doing to make a positive influence in a situation that has gone too far out of control? What is the point in arguing a situation that clearly doesn’t effect YOU?

These people don’t care about our country, our military, OR our military dependents and spouses. If it were up to me they’d all be deported to Iraq and see how they like living there.

***I’ve used the word you in general. I’m not speaking to you literally but figuratively.

To Nassim:
Nassim, I understand your point, but I disagree with your logic.
You point the finger at someone "pressing a button" and killing many people. For one thing- it's never that easy. Our Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen have to work hard every day they're in the armed forces, and even more so in combat.
You point the finger at people being overly anti-Arabic and label them "losers". Who's stereotyping now? I do understand that there is more scrutiny on people of Arabic descent, and that it is sometimes unfair. However, if a country is at war with another country, anyone with ties to any of those countries (whether they're actively involved in the war or not) is usually at the very least forced out, and loses their home and possessions. Read your history books. The US has not done this except in cases where they find evidence of a connection. There have been some people who have gone too far, but that is a minuscule number. Even if we say that 100 of our troops have committed torture (which I would say is an overestimation), then we are talking about approximately 1 in every 25,000 troops. That is hardly enough to logically classify everyone in the military as sadistic and anti-Arabic.
My guess is that you are basing this on some personal anger, and that someone may have mistreated you or someone you know. If so, that is still no cause to taint the name of every man and woman who serves honorably and uprightly in the military.
Also, as to your comment on the people who "don't know what they're getting into" coming out of high school: that is probably true of some of the recruits, but believe me- you do not get to be a Sailor, Soldier, Marine, Airman, or Officer unless you have strength and will.
To our men and women in uniform:
I will echo what's already been said. It's a complicated world and a complicated war, but you're doing your job anyway, and doing it well. You are heroes.

From an old Vietnam vet. Thank you girl. When you are in the military, you give up the right to desent. The military today is entirely volunteer. Most of these people enlist to defend our freedom. The sad truth today is our civilian leaders do not like military people. Clinton was the first to come out of the closet if you will. He did more to destroy our military than any president has. He set a president of which the liberal left is spouting and many republicans have begun to jump on board.
It's my personal belief that every man and woman should have to spend at least two years in either the military or civilian organization in a foreign country prior to being allow to enter college.
Thanks again for the support to your military,
They deserve it.

AMEN - Soldiers - Our thanks, our Pride, our Prayers and the best of our well wishes are for you. May you serve well, may you come home unhindered and may your successes serve to protect liberty and everything we stand for. Protesters - You are right in that you have the right to say whatever you want but to those people who believe this way I have one thing to say, Just because you CAN say something doesn't mean you SHOULD say something. There is a line folks of common decency and Humanity, There is a place when an insult or a protest serves to do nothing but show what an idiot you are. A wise man once said it is better to remain silent and appear the fool then to open ones mouth and remove all doubt... This is a lesson you people should take to heart. - Also just as an FYI.... Other countries don't have the right to speak freely and in those countries, you could be killed for your cute little "protests" as they would be considered treason. - Remember that our boys are fighting for your right to protest, and they are dying for your right to badmouth them.... Pretty charitable and noble thing to do if you ask me.

I agree that a man or woman that fights for their country can possibly be a patriot. However, they are not all good. Think about the ones that pressed a button that killed many lives. Think about the ones that blindly sign up not knowing what they are getting into. Think about the losers from Camp Gitmo. They were so angry about their twisted perceptions of what an Arab is, that they committed torture and murder. Yes, there are some soldiers that just want to protect their country, but then there are the ones that make it look bad to be an American. Just think, b4 you blindly support them, you don´t want to accidentally support a murderer, unless you do of course.
And for u2nsuspense (sorry for the misspelling) I don´t classify races as I am American. I classify individuals. And yes, I have received what one would call racism, and stereotyping and all that, but that didn´t shape my opinion on the army. I let the things that we have heard about so far shape my opinion. And not that it´s anybodies business, but I think I have a better perspective about what´s going on in the world as I know some important people (NOT terrorists, why did I even have to clear that up). So if you are just going to judge me b4 doing your research then I can say that that fits the description of ´prejudice´. Good luck though. Love and Respect. Peace.

Thank you. It is my duty to protect this country. Hearing people like yourself say that you appreciate us makes it an honor.
In the words of an army cadence : Duty , Honor , Country, I'll give my life.
Once again thank you for supporting us.
