My friend I'm not a prophet but I can tell you for a fact, such a person is perhaps what we need to call a false prophet!!!!!!, and religious as well, what did you call that, Not what happen in your mind inside your own head!!!!!< Confusion!!!!!, again, false prophets, working for the deceiver, so, they can count you out part of their act's, is good sometimes to learn listen, and go back and listen to then again, do what they do, little go for one ear in, and let it come out, and then look at the Guy, False prophet, and tell him of course, it is all inside your head. be careful>!, we are in bad times for this, take like a man, someone just try you?????, The more intelligent words that you wrote in your question are the ones, they can't conceived you can understand!!!!, and they don't like it, that is why they can tell you they know when and How to kill an Animal, and the point is hey, body, you aren't an Animal??, think again, we are in the top of the food chain, and we belong to the Animal kingdom, although lol..., this is old and obsolete religion, know there are more appealing and attractive words to convince you, that you are not good so you has to fallow my way of reading the Bible. there are false prophets also in the bible, the Bible can teach any one to believed that he is God. and that isn't the purposes but whom care, there is open mind and understanding, so if they have been deceives why not deceived someone else. be careful!<<< This is not time for getting Confuce!>>>

The 10 Commandments you refer to is divided into 2 parts. The first part is man's relationship with God the other part is man's relationship to man. Animals are part of man's diet since Noah's time. I personally have a problem with random killing of animals just for sport. But killing them for food purposes is perfectly acceptable, so it is not a contradiction. It was not talking about animals but man. Also, all seeming contradiction of scripture that those who do not know God love to spout off, are not contradictions at all. There is no contradiction in the Word of God only in our understanding of it.

It says thou shalt not Murder. Murder has been replaced by kill in recient bibles. The KJV sticks to Murder, another example of false bibles. Subtile changes that over time change the meaning of the word.

To kill in the Bible refers to the murder of human beings. the correct translation is "thou shalt not murder." To kill animals for food is not a sin, as God has sanctioned that. the person that you talked with could be double minded. Without further details i cannot say.

I don't know what the other person's objection was, however, jsut to be clear, the commandment in the bible is 'thou shalt not commit murder'.

Murder is very different from killing. Anyone who fails to recognize the difference is morally bankrupt...or just plain stupid.

No contradiction. The commandment says thou shalt not murder.

Of course, hunting for the sole purpose of sport is bad.

You might want to tell him that the Bible is fine with killing, in fact it promotes it! Anybody who works on Sunday needs to be killed (Exodus 35:2), women who aren't virgin when they marry should be killed, drunks and disobedient children should be killed and so on... Hell, even Jesus criticizes his followers for not following the Old Testament commandment to kill disobedient children in mark 7:9-10...

Hell just look at this passage from Deuteronomy 13:7-11:

“If your brother, the son of your father or of your mother, or your son or daughter, or the spouse whom you embrace, or your most intimate friend, tries to secretly seduce you, saying. “Let us go and serve other gods,” … you must show him no pity, you must not spare him or conceal his guilt. No, you must kill him, your hand must strike the first blow in putting him to death and the hands of the rest of the people following. You must stone him to death, since he has tried to divert you from Yahweh your God.”

So he's being hypocritical. :p

In Genesis 1 verse 26, it says that man will rule over animals. This person is not contradicting themselves. We are rulers over animals. But the bible also says that God provides food for even the smallest bird, showing us that He cares about animals. Animals (and plants) are here to serve us humans. But we are not to mistreat them and kill for fun and torture them. We are to use them to provided for our needs. If this person is hunting animals for food, no big deal. But if they are hunting for fun to kill, then I think that is wrong.

The Bible says "Do not murder."
There is a difference between killing and murder.
BTW Why do you (and so many others) suddenly start talking old english when quoting the Bible?
