digoxin prescribed for dog with heart problem?

My vet prescribed Digoxin for my 6 lb. chichuahua. I was told to get Lanoxin 50 mcg/ml and give him 6 drops a day--3 in the morning and 3 in the evening after meals. This seems excessive to me and he recently had some sort of spell/fit. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I would call your vet and make sure about the Meds. Also tell them that your dog had an episode because they may decrease the dose or change meds if the dog is having a reaction of some sort. If you are having problems with the drops then you might ask your vet about changing to pill form. But definitely tell your vet that your dog was having problems. You dont want to mess around with heart meds. Good luck.
