Use Sidney!
Sidney is a service provided by Solutions for Progress to anyone whose annual household income is less than $52,000. File your taxes, claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit, and others – at no cost and completely worry free.
The Sidney difference
Many people find filing a tax return confusing and difficult, and end up paying someone to do it for them. Sidney changes this by providing a no-cost tax filing service that is easy to use and accessible from any Internet-connected computer. Sidney further simplifies the tax filing process by completing all the right forms and schedules – as well as doing all the complex math – for you.
The program also uses a unique tax credit maximization process, ensuring users who qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and other credits claim them. Up to 25 percent of Americans who qualify for the EITC do not claim it. Sidney takes the guesswork out of claiming tax credits and deductions, by examining your data and automatically determining which credits and deductions you can claim.

If you have a low enough income. The free file from the IRS is great. If not try TAX ACT although you will have to find a way to do your state taxes or you will have to pay a small fee.

Sidney is REALLY free, which is cool - there's no hidden charges like on some of the other "free sites" on the irs page. And you can do state taxes for free, too, in some places. I did my PA taxes and it took all of 5 minutes, since it saved all my federal information. Of course, I helped build it (kinda) so I'm biased. :)

Actually I tried using TaxACT and wasn't happy with the amount it said I was going to get back. Checked out H&R Block and was going to *owe* money. So I ended up looking at Sidney that previous posters have mentioned, and after I signed up and went through the questions I ended up with a refund larger than I would have ever anticipated - now all I have to do is wait for the money to hit my bank account! It was so easy I pointed my family members to it and they're all getting back more than they thought they were going to. Definitely worth checking out!

If you make less than less than $52,000 , you should check out this program called Sidney at:
https://sidney.solutionsforprogress.com/
Sidney takes you through a series of questions, and when you're done, uses the information you entered to complete and file your federal return and selected state returns (D.C, Maryland, Mississippi, Ohio, and Pennsylvania).
It is designed to help low to moderate income families who are often overcharged by other tax preparers. It works really well!!!

Taxact is good. Or you can just do the paperwork by hand! Still no charge for that, and if your taxes are simple - especially if all you have to do is the EZ form, its not worth it to pay at all for that anyway!
