As far as the flu is concerned, if you don't take one of the virus fighter within about 48 hours of the time you start symptoms, you just have to ride it out. Drink plenty of liquids, take vitamin C, or drink fruit juices and some kind of pain and fever reducer. I find that 1/2 teaspoon of table salt in l cup of fairly hot water, swished around in my mouth, helps the sore mouth. Hope this helps! Get better soon.

The flu is caused by a virus and it must run its course - you can help by letting your body do its job and get plenty of rest and fluids; use aceitominophen( like tylenol) or ibuprofen(like motrin or nuprin) for fever and aches.

And why exactly is the roof of your mouth raw? If you burned it eating something too hot, again lots of fluids (to help the tissues do their repair jobs) and some pain killer to make it more comfy. You can also eat some soothing foods like sour cream or yogurt - if you can keep them down.

Take some fish oil supplements along with echinacea. This should be done as soon as you 'feel' it coming on. For relief, eat/take ice-cream,tapioca,chicken soup,puddings,etc..... and raw vegetables/fruit that don't irritate.

Rest and drink plenty of fluids. If you don't feel better after 3 days, call your doctor.
