For the most part I do't think people want to be hypocrates, they just dn't realize what they are doing. There are a few people out there who want to be hypocrates just to get the reaction from other people.

Your right. No one wants to be a hypocrite but many know they are being hypocrites and will do or say anything to keep that from being exposed. Very few people don't car that their hypocrites. Even the vainest cheat you can find may know deep down that hes a hypocritical son of a ***** always cares when their exposed as the fools they are

A hypocrite is self - loathing.

They suffer from the same affliction, or affliction related to (closely related to or triggered by), the person they're acting out against (IE: homophobic, or racist). Since this affliction is so deep into their soul, it's similar to a demons possessing them. If a cure were available, and they understood that they were hypocrites, then logically, they would want the cure. A few of these personality types are tied in with deep seeded psychological disorders (bi-polar, agorphobia, or OCD's).

I think in a certain sense most of us are hypocrites. We all have standards of behavior to which we'd like to adhere at all times, and frequently fail at doing so, while continuing to speak of these standards as our own.

To that extent, we don't "practice what we preach," as it were, and can be considered hypocrites.

So, I try to be kind to hypocrites, (though I sometimes fail) because I may well be one of them.

I don't think most people spend enough time examining their own actions and words to know the difference. A lot of people who do know the difference are making too much money through hypocricy to care.

I think alot of times people just don't care or they are afraid of making mistakes and looking stupid. So they just don't say anything.
