Agenda, rarely. However they do take advantage of their situation. From things as simple as free food/coffee and breaking the speed limit for fun tocharging extra for off duty security jobs and actually pocketing money from drug busts. Everyone takes advantage of their job. A movie store clerk takes a flick home for free, an office worker runs copies for free, food svc employee eats free. We just tend to think law enforcment should be above thhat--they are NOT! They are only human; and therefore flawed. We can only hope they don't go too far... Who polices the police? It's like "our gvt works for us"-yeah, right! Wrongful actions by a cop lead to "paid leave" (a vacation); this is hardly a deterent. A case in my town a cop has been on "paid leave" 8mos for killing someone with his cruiser while NOT answering a call and driving the wrong way on a street. Meanwhile he works security at an apt complex for free rent and 300wk...

Honestly some police officers do get behind a badge and protect and serve just has their oath states. These men and women I dont have a problem with. The problem comes where you have a man or a woman who gets behind a badge to use their power to assert themselves over other people. Some of these officers were teased as childen or are weaker in their own lives so they dawn their uniform to make them feel a since of power. Just look at your own experiences. I know for myself I dont like to deal with them.

Try this, you wake up at 3am, there is an intruder in your home. You quickly call 911 and tell the dispatcher there is an intruder downstairs, you can hear glass breaking and more than one voice. The dispatcher stays on the phone with you. You soon hear sirens. The cops show up, the arrest the 3 guys who have broken into your home and they all have warrants out, one is a convicted serial rapist and is carrying a stolen .357 magnum semiauto handgun. The other two are wanted for murder. The cops are there to PROTECT YOU>>>>>>>at the risk of their own lives. OR.....you are driving home late one night after a long hard day at work, a drunk driver comes out of nowhere and plows into you. You are hurt and can not get out of your car. You hear sirens as your car starts on fire. You are trapped. The first person you see is a cop trying to cut your seat belt to get you out before you burn to death in your car.
Where is their agenda and why do you think there is one?

I wonder, what would make you think this? Is there some big conspiracy that is going on that makes you question your safety? If you feel that you are not being protected properly by your local law enforcement agency, then by all means file a complaint with your local department.
In my opinion, there are good and bad in every line of work, and for the most part the good outnumber the bad.

Very good question. I think some officers must have an agenda, after all we all have different views on right and wrong, legal and illegal, moral and immoral. I wanted to be a cop but as a young man but i realized i couldn't follow the book, not all the rules suit me!

Every person and every occupation has their own agenda, that's why they call them agendas.

In every department and in every levels, you will always have someone who does not care or who is corrupt, but for the most part, al officers have a job to do and they do it with pride for the pyblic, and mnay times its a thankless job,,!!
