Also, Is there any mention of such a concept in any religious text or is it a man made concept?

Antichrist
Who is the Antichrist?
Antichrist means against or instead of Christ. The term applies to all who deny what the Bible says about Jesus Christ, all who oppose his Kingdom, and all who mistreat his followers. It also includes individuals, organizations, and nations that falsely claim to represent Christ or that improperly ascribe to themselves the role of Messiah.
Does the Bible refer to only one antichrist?
1 John 2:18: “Young children, it is the last hour, and, just as you have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour.”
2 John 7: “Many deceivers have gone forth into the world, persons not confessing Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.” (Notice that the “many antichrists” of 1 John 2:18 are here referred to collectively as “the antichrist.”)
Is the coming of the antichrist reserved for some future time?
1 John 4:3: “Every inspired expression that does not confess Jesus does not originate with God. Furthermore, this is the antichrist’s inspired expression which you have heard was coming, and now it is already in the world.” (That was written near the end of the first century C.E.)
1 John 2:18: “Even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour.” (By “last hour” John evidently meant the end of the apostolic period. The other apostles had died, and John himself was very old.)
Some of those identified as antichrist—
Persons who deny that Jesus is truly the Messiah
1 John 2:22: “Who is the liar if it is not the one that denies that Jesus is the Christ [or, Messiah, anointed one]? This is the antichrist.”
All who deny that Jesus is the unique Son of God
1 John 2:22: “This is the antichrist, the one that denies the Father and the Son.”
Compare John 10:36; Luke 9:35.
Apostates
1 John 2:18, 19: “There have come to be many antichrists . . . They went out from us, but they were not of our sort.”
Those who oppose Christ’s true followers
John 15:20, 21: “If they have persecuted me, they will persecute you also . . . But they will do all these things against you on account of my name.”
Individuals and nations that oppose Christ as King or that themselves falsely claim the Messianic role
Ps. 2:2: “The kings of earth take their stand and high officials themselves have massed together as one against Jehovah and against his anointed one [Christ, or Messiah].”
See also Revelation 17:3, 12-14; 19:11-21.
Matt. 24:24: “False Christs and false prophets will arise and will give great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones.”

Yep the Anti-Christ is peppered throughout the New Testament. Here is one example:

1John 2:18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.

Basically the Anti-Christ is someone who claims to be the messiah, but isn't. Many Christians believe that one major antichrist will appear in the final days of the earth and trick a bunch of Christians into going with him. Several protestant denominations believe this person will be a catholic pope.

Personally, I don't think that there is much to any of it. John was looking for an end to Jewish/Christian suffering by the Romans, he believed that Jesus was the one prophesied in the OT to come and save the Jews, he was killed. But events after the death convinced his followers that he had risen, and they formed an end times philosophy from those events. They have been crying end-times ever since, as you can see from the verse written above, they have been expecting the end times for 2000 years.

The "anti-Christ" is never mentioned as a singular person in the future anywhere in the Bible.

The most talk about "anti-christ" comes in the book of 1 John particularly 1 John 2:18-27.

Here it says that there has been many anti-christs, that there are presently anti-christs, and there will be anti-christs in the future. An anti-Christ is simply someone who does not believe that Jesus is the Messiah.

See my past answers on this subject as well. This seems like a popular question today.

The Anti-Christ is referred to in the Bible book of 1 John.
John mentions that the term 'Anti-Christ' does not refer to one person only.
"YOU have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrist. . ." 1 John 2:18
He also gives a definition:
"This is the antichrist, the one that denies the Father and the Son.. . ." 1 John 2:22.
I know that kind of takes away from the eerie mystique of the term, but truth's truth.

The Anti Christ will rise to power in the Tribulation. After us Christians have been raptured with Christ, there will be a 7-year period filled with God's judgment and death. Satan will come to Earth in the form of a man (the Anti-Christ). He will act very nice, and try to bring the world together in peace. He will declare that he is Jesus, and gain world power in his name. He will be the most powerful man on Earth. Pick up your Bible and turn to Revelation. It shows everything that will happen during that time. You don't have to go through the Tribulation, however. Accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, and you shall rise with the other Christians during the Rapture! You will live for eternity with God in Heaven! Please don't wait; Jesus is coming!

There is a vague reference in Revalations. It comes from the End-Timers (closely related to the creationists and radical fundies).

The story is..an anti-christ will come and he will be very charasmatic and all of us (even non believers) will follow him and that will signal the end and the coming of Jesus.

I may have a few of the details wrong, lol.

antichrist is used in the Bible and can mean anyone who is against Christ. However, when people refer to "the Antichrist" they are generally referring to "the beast" in the Book of Revelation.
