NOT the rednecky, good ol' country boy type that hunts and smokes and cusses excessively. I know it's not someone who is too passive and has no real passion about him. I am a good ol' southern girl, but I'm not rednecky at all. I am pretty classy and enjoy nice things. I have had relationships with men who were that rednecky-type and found that this wasn't for me. I have found that I'm attracted to more intelligent men...ones who care about themselves and they present themselves well and dress nicely. I'm attracted to their minds...their stubborness and their life experiences...their passionate side. I am not a worldly girl and I'm not super-educated. I have a good head on my shoulders and I'm sensitive and observant. I am no big career woman but work in offices. I'm attracted to men of intelligence and character but wonder would someone like that be interested in me if I'm not on an equal intelligence level ? I've dated guys like this in the past and it was awkward and didn't last.

BUT I'm older and more experienced now and know more what I want from a man. When trying to date those men in the past...I felt I had nothing really to offer them but now I think the right person would be interested in me if they took the time to know me and if they had what it takes to bring that side out in me. It's there...it's just that the only ones that have even come close to bringing it out have been spoken for and I couldn't get close to them, but in conversation or working relationships...I realized that THIS is the type of man I'm looking for. I wouldn't pursue a married man, but have observed their behavior and personality and realized that some have possessed those qualities I crave.

What you do for work at the moment is not as important as your attitude toward learning. Curiosity is the key. Regardless of your education or background you can learn and grow with each passing day. If you read a news magazine or book rather than watch another sitcom you will discover more about the world and be able to have a broader range of conversations with anyone.
It doesn't take much effort to learn something new everyday. I know some drab physicians and I know some very smart farmers. The difference is whether someone continues to learn and grow. If you have a vitality about you, intelligence is just part of the mix of many other things that make up your character.

Okay, it took me some time to actually get to your question, but I think there is a simple answer. Yes, someone like that could be interested in you because there is more to attraction than intelligence. I also wonder if you didn't mean equal as it relates to being knowledgeable? If that is the direction you were heading then you probably have nothing to worry about because people are knowledgeable in different ways.
Finally, you stated that you are recently divorced.... Take a nice deep breath... Relax a little... Don't get your knickers in a bunch, and let things just happen.

So...you're not interested in being a 'good ole boy's girl', huh?! That's your decision. But if you're classy as you say, you should be hanging out with the intellectual types that you seek to attract. That entails developing friendships with females that surround themselves with that type and not just 'redneck girls' that could only introduce you to the same. You seem insecure though, based on your description of yourself that you're not 'worldly or super educated' so I suggest that you first work on youself. If you furthered your own education you would come in contact with like minded men with similar goals. It would also be less intimidating for you as well if you met men through college courses. I'd like to remind you also that it's possible you're overlooking a 'diamond in the rough' such as a red neck guy that has many layers. It's possible that a redneck man could be well educated and still enjoying hunting and fishing. Don't be so quick to put men in categories. Intellectual giants can still be rude, offensive, and crude. Good Luck to ya.

I am from NY and have gone to college & University in Canada (montreal) was married and divorce
before my divorce I move to Florida leave in Palm beach
after my divorce the guys that approched me were horrible
no education what so ever the ones that have school education
were completly stupid I one told one if I was his parents I would ask a reimbursment for the money that was spent sending him to school (imagine private school all his life)
he asked me if Canada have an army & an airforce
that did it so I decided to stay on my own instead of trying to have
conversation with 88s so I stay by myself for 6 years until I met my husband who happen to be French
but knows all about American History/Canadian Hstory
business, law , immigration
Someone that was well rounded and what he does not know he wants to know that make him so attrative
he is someone that love going shopping, travel (that is a most in a husband)
So be patient and also be willing to move away from your own nationality
because your chances of meeting the man you have describe will greater
Good luck & be patient

Absolutely, in romance anything is possible! (Though this is often the problem) Just a few things to keep in mind:
After the initial attraction, take some time to find out what he wants in a woman. Don't forget that YOU -> DON'T <- have to bend over backwards to meet these things: it just helps to know.
If the date isn't going well, ask him about himself. Anyone finds it easier to talk about themself. Once things are moving smoothly again, take the conversation wherever you want it to go.
Finally, don't take too much emotional stock in a "new" date. Wait until things seem like they are going to work out (i.e. around the BF/GF level) before throwing your full heart into something.
All of these will boost your odds of finding mr. right. Good Luck! (^^)v

I have been divorced for 1 year now, not of my choice. But the harder you look the less you will find. Honey, stop looking let them come to you. Maybe GOD has a better plan for you. We all know what we think we want, but sometimes we get just the opposite. I choose to have some fun before I go hunting again. Good luck in you search.

There is a difference between "equal intellegence level" and "equal educational level," and since you sound fairly intellegent you meerly need to learn more about more things in order to have good conversations with these people. You don't necessarily need to go back to school. Read books that are non-fiction and always watch the news and documentaries on television. I think it will help you a lot over time.

You sound wonderful and caring!
Being interested in learning new things and being adventurous is all you really need for most intelligent guys.
I am not perfect but fit most of the qualities you seek as do lots of men. We all have our weaknesses and you must love us for both are strengths and weaknesses.

If you're recently divorced...why not just try it solo for a while. Why bother with the aggravation of relationships, etc. I WISH I was recently divorced...sniff, sniff...unforutunately, I'm still married :(
