My ex has been in prison for 2 years. We were together 4 years off and on and he was a huge part of my life. Our break-up was messy and were still seeing eachother off and on when he got arrested. It took me a long time to finally let myself get into another relationship with my current man who I have now been with for over 8 months now. We've known eachother for 5 years, so it's not like we're strangers. I love him very much and plan on marrying him.

My ex calls me from prison every once in a while just to talk. He knows about my current boyfriend. He still tells me he loves me sometimes, but I didn't think it meant he was IN LOVE with me, until I got a valentine from him saying that I will "forever be his valentine" and that deep down he will "always love me".

I've told my current bf that my ex still calls me, but we had been drinking and I don't think he remembers... I don't want him to think that I hide things from him, but there's nothing going on... Should I tell him?

I don't want to ignore or be mean to my ex because I do care about him. I also feel sorry for him and want to be there as a friend. It's so sad that he's going to have to spend most of his 20's in a place like prison and miss out on that part of his life.

I love my current man more than anything though and I want to always keep things honest between us. He's weird when it comes to talking about the past though... He won't talk about his exes and doesn't want to hear about mine.

If he is the man that you want to marry, this should not even be in question. You should marry your best friend, therefore you would tell him everything.

This is also important to tell him because your "ex" does not see himself as an ex and may not be so willing to leave you alone when he is out of prison. You should really end all contact with him for safety reasons. Change your phone number and make it unlisted so he does not keep calling you.

In prison there is a lot of time to think and he is thinking of you as his. There could be danger in that.

Take care,
Troy

I think you should tell him. It would only be fair. I bet you would feel much better. If you say nothings going on then don't hide it.
If you hide it then your hiding something, sorry!
