i've had red hair all my life when old enough had blonde high lights but i need a change. i'm thinking about going with a really light brown with blonde high lights. too risky? if so then what should i get for a change?

I had red hair until I could reach the clarol box!! LOL!! I've always colored my hair either brown or black to cover the red and I love it!! My advice is do it! Be who you are.

I don't think it's too risky. I think a lot of redheads probably have the right coloring for light brown. If you are too hesitant, try light brown with lowlights. Then when you are more brave, go with the blonde highlights.

I think change is a Good thing. If the brown that you are considering using is light i don't think it would be a problem . However think about using a third color like a med. brown streaks this would sure to give you a new and updated look. hope it works out what ever you do.

I myself would never go that far without trying it first. I would suggest trying it with a one day or week wash out dye to see if you like the brown hair, if you like that the blonde should look fine with it, but if you want to test both you could too! So if you like it you can get it permanent and if not it will wash out. But i know what you mean about needing a change!!! Good luck!

Too risky? No way! maybe if you worked in a office and were going for a purple mohawk it would be risky, but I've seen the style you describe all over the place and it looks just fine

awhhhh..... i wish i had red hair... what ever you do please don't go blond....red to brown is easy to do, but keep some red tones in maybe, or if you are a bright red try going 7 shades deeper, almost a brown but not quite.
