Depends. Did you buy a computer with Vista on it? I read its illegal to take off. But...I dont know about taking it off and putting XP on. Well, heres how. Put the XP disk in, restart. Hit a button when it says, to load the XP disk. If it doesnt load or come up, go into the bios, switch the boot stuff to CD only, then it can only load from the cd, if that doesnt work, take out the hard drive, put in a new one or take it to another computer and format it.

You'll need to reboot the computer with your Windows XP disk in your CDRom. Hopefully your bios is setup to look for CDs upon bootup. If not, you'll need to go into the bios and change the boot disk order to make sure it looks for the CDRom first and the HardDrive second. Unfortunately, every computer is different for this so you'll have to go to your computer brand's website and learn how. Once done, a screen will ask you to press any key to boot from the CD. Once into the setup, just tell it to delete the partitions and create a new one. Then setup should continue normally. Just remember this will wipe your hard drive clean of Vista so there will be no turning backafter all the confirmations.

You have to put the xp disk in before your computer loads vista and choose to boot from CD. Then delete the old partition and create a new partition with the windows xp disk if your not sure what kind of partition I go with NTFS and haven't had any problems with 3 computers. After you do all that you should be ready to roll.
Good Luck let me know how it turns out.

The only way to remove Vista is to format your hard drive. Microsoft will not let you put an older version of windows on top of a newer version.
Put your XP CD in the drive and boot from it.

You can't just uninstall it, you will have to format your drive and then install XP.
