Dying will not stop your hair from growing, per se, but due to the fact that dying makes hair brittle and dry, it could cause breakage. The breakage in turn, might give the illusion that the hair stopped growing. If you are using other harsh chemicals that damage your hair follicles, then you might notice your hair thinning and more scalp showing. Avoid the hair dyes that contain peroxide or ammonia in favor of temporary rinses. Some do a wonderful job while giving you beautiful color. Another solution is to minimize using heat appliances and use a powerful conditioner at least once per week. A few great conditioners to try are, Aphogee (smells awful but works well - follow the directions), Emergencee from Nexus, plain old Mayonnaise from your refrigerator or store bought mayonnaise conditioners which smell better. I have tried these and they do work!!

No, and it won't slow the growth process either. Ask anyone that gets their hair colored how often they need to get the regrowth touched up! Usually every 6-8 weeks depending on the color. If you're natural brunette & bleach your hair blonde in about 4-8wks you'll be able to see the stripe in the center of the head appear. If you have someone that has very light hair get highlights those don't appear to be as obvious because of the closeness in color but there is still regrowth. Now if you are recoloring or bleaching (not just doing the regrowth) over time chances are if your hair appears to not be growing it because it's breaking off.

No, not at all. If your not using a shampoo and conditioner that repairs and conditions color treated hair it could get a little brittle at the ends, but from personal experience everyday blow drying can do more damage than dying it.

It doesn't make mine stop growing, and I dye it every time I get a haircut, which is about every couple months. Sometimes I wonder if it doesn't speed the process.
