There is a color remover that you can use at home. Think it is either made by Revlon of Loreal. Usually on the bottom shelf where the hair color is.

They do sell a remover, but you need to be careful with that because it strips out the color and you would need to re-color with the color you want. This is a bit risky . You can use a really harsh shampoo like Prell mixed with some baking soda, it will pull out some of the color, but it does dry out your hair a little. Hot oil treatments also do pull some color out of dyed hair. Best bet would be to see a hairdresser who may be able to lighten it up a bit without stripping the color out.

you never said if you went darker or lighter... proper way to do it is go to a salon and they can use a color remover or put some foils in to highlight it and make it look lighter. if the color you put in is lighter then your stylist can add lowlights or a toner to make it a little darker
but if you cann't afford that and the color is darker then try Dawn dish soap or a deep cleansing shampoo but make sure you use a good conditioner after because this will dry your hair our..

My lady friend convinced me to use JUST FOR MEN before my class reunion and it looked so fake I was disappointed. So there I go shopping for Hair dye remover. Kmart and Jewel/Osco Grocery store also sold it. As well as Hair Salon supply stores. Its more pricey than the actual hair dye I used to colour my hair.. But my suggestion is... if your in America is Kmart and Jewel/Osco store was the better prices.
