I was just wondering if that happens. Cause the braces are on your teeth and when you brush them wouldnt only part of your teeth get white and the part the braces are on top of stay yellow.

Before the braces are placed on your teeth the Orthodondist will polish your teeth so nothing is sitting under the bracket.

What can happen is the opposite of what you ask. Since the teeth are polished before putting on the braces, under the bracket is white. Then some people do not take care of their teeth while they have braces and their teeth will stain. So when the braces come off there is a white sqaure in the middle of a stained tooth. I have seen pitctures of this. They show you these at the Ortho. to encourage you to take care of your teeth when you have braces.

Good question!

When they put your brackets on they clean your teeth really well underneath, that blue stuff that goes on before your brackets is called acid etch, it makes sure that nothing is between your brackets and your teeth. Then they use a bonding agent and the adhesive to put on your brackets.
No matter what toothpaste you use your teeth really aren't going to change color that much. The cleanest, most healthy tooth structure is underneath your bracket because of the way it was prepared before your braces were put on.
Unless you bleached them (which would be EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND DUMB) there isn't going to be a discrepancy in color because of that.
However, if you have poor oral hygiene your teeth will start to decay and you'll get decalcification lines. Have you ever seen those people who have really swollen gums up front? Well their teeth will start to decay and they'll turn bright white just along the edges. Sometimes they won't decay all the way they'll just start and then stop so they'll have these splotches and lines.
It's not discoloration from brushing, it's from not brushing. Hope this helps.

Only if you don't clean them like the orthodontist tells you how to. I had braces for 2 years and my teeth didn't change colors.

They didn't do that to mine but the "trauma" of pulling and pressure caused one tooth to "die" and needed a root canal after I took off the braces. I'm complimented on my tooth colour so, I guess it didn't harm that.

No they don't cause marks coz the dentists who put braces for you are proffesionals and they know how to do stuff so that you can brush your whole mouth....
