Which type of "pinkeye' do You have?
If it is caused by a bacterial infection You will have either a watery or puss-like discharge from the eyes. This can be treated with an antibiotic ointment or eye drop. Visine will do.
If it is caused by a virus You will have a very watery discharge which can be treated with a simple application of a warm, wet compress to the eyes.
Remember to wash Your hands thoroughly after applying the appropriate treatment, and dispose of all soiled material in a sealed plastic bag. Pinkeye is highly contagious.

There is a cure. Pink eye is caused by a bacteria. Go to your local health food store or some local supermarkets carry it and get Colloidal silver. Put 2 drops in the infected eyes every 2-3 hours. It should clear up in a few days. Colloidal silver kills the bacteria.

most pink eyes are viral like the common cold. There is nothing to do except wait and wash your hands a lot. Doctors always prescribe antibiotics, but they do nothing for viral infections. It should only last 7-10 days. IF it seems worse go see your eye doc.

Pink eye will eventually go away on it's own. It is very conntagious though, and would be very hard to not spread it if you have it for a prolonged period of time. Some schools and daycares will not allow you back to work until you have been medicating it for 24 hours.

You can buy OTC eyedrops especially made for pink eye at the health food store (I've seen them at Target, too). Whatever you do, just throw out the stuff after you're done and don't use it (touch it) to the other eye because it will spread.
