Even if you have 2 females they wouldn't display the mating ritual(have birdie sex to be blunt) To let you know what dove sex looks like (hehehe) usually the male will first bow up and down and puff his chest while he is calling; then he will feed the female if that goes well she will squat down on her perch, at that point she is allowing him to do his thing, the male will then jump on her back you will see them both flap their wings and wiggle their tails. You will know that everything went well if they BOTH make that laughing sound (I love that noise) If you only notice that one is making the noise, usually the male and the female is quiet things were not successful and she was not fertilized. That does not mean that she will not lay, her hormones will force her to do that. The other problem may be incubation of the eggs. If they get off the eggs for as long as an hour and they get cold the eggs will expire. Incubation of a dove egg is 12-14 days.

Mating behaviour can be done with the same sex as a way of showing dominance. 1-800-625-0874 is a DNA center that can send you a free kit to identify the sex of your birds. It costs around 20 dollars. In the meantime, feed them a fortified dove feed, and add chopped hard cooked egg with crumbled shell. The extra protein, calcium and other nutrients will ensure healthy offspring. Provide for appropriate nest and nesting material. Good luck and after the tests, there will be the answer you are looking for.

Definitely not 2 boys or one would have killed the other by now. You must have 2 females because male doves are very vocal, even with a female in the cage. When there is a male and female in the cage, there is constant egg laying. Have raised doves before several times.

This guy goes to a bar that's on the tenth floor of a hotel. He sits down and has a couple of drinks, then stands up, announces loudly that he has had enough, and goes over and jumps out the window. Now, there are two men who are sitting at a window table, and having that natural human curiosity about the grotesque, watch as this man plummets to certain death. However, just as he is about to hit the ground, he rights himself, pulls his feet underneath himself, and lands gracefully. He then turns and comes back into the building. Naturally, the two men are amazed. The guy comes back into the bar, orders a few drinks, then repeats the process. The two men at the window seat are astounded! When the guy returns and repeats the procedure AGAIN, the two men stop him before he jumps and ask him how on earth he does that. He replies "It's simple, really. There's an air vent down by the ground, and if you catch the updraft, you can right yourself and land on the ground with no problems." Then he proceeded to jump out the window again. Well, these two men decided that they just HAD to try this, so they jumped out the window, and SPLAT! -- made a mess hitting all over the ground. Meanwhile, the first guy has made it back up to the bar. When he sits down to order his drinks, the bartender says "Superman, you can be a real ------- when you're drunk!"

I've been told that sometimes, if you have a male and a female but the eggs are infertile, it may help to clip the feathers around both of their vents, to allow the sperm better access.

eggs but no babies, you either have an infertile male or two females. try introducing another dove, one that is a known male.
of course at this stage in their lives they maybe too old to breed.
