THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE IS A GOVERMENT AGENCY
IT IS A BRANCH OF THE DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY

Until the money you owe them is satisfied IF you had filed tax returns you might have been able to avoid some taxes Just because you don't believe you owe them anything is irrelevant. What are the facts? Did you respond to any of the IRS mailings? Did you file your tax returns? Dild you read any IRS publications on the topic? Did you talk to your attorney about this? Did you receive a 1099 form? Failure to take care of this matter at the time has caused the amount you owed the IRS to grow with penalties and interest. They will not stop until satisfied. You had plenty of money and could have paid them, you spent the money instead and they've been chasing you and will continue to do so.

An independent corporation? Not sure where you get your information, friend, but it's bogus. The IRS is part of the Department of the Treasury, a cabinet-level agency of the US Government.

The authority to levy taxes comes directly from The Constitution. The authority to levy income taxes from the 16th Amendment and the authority to actually collect income taxes is contained in Title 26 of the US Code.

"The Internal Revenue Service is a bureau of the Department of the Treasury under the immediate direction of the Commissioner of Internal Revenue. The Commissioner has general superintendence of the assessment and collection of all taxes imposed by any law providing internal revenue. The Internal Revenue Service is the agency by which these functions are performed."

"In 1862, during the Civil War, President Lincoln and Congress created the office of Commissioner of Internal Revenue and enacted an income tax to pay war expenses (see Revenue Act of 1862). The position of Commissioner exists today and he is the head of the Internal Revenue Service."

I've seen several people saying the IRS can't collect taxes, but if you'll notice people lose their house and go to jail for not paying...it stands to reason law or not, they can.

I guess I'd rather pay a few bucks than go to jail, unless 300 million Americans get together on this.

I notice the Media Black Out of the ED Brown tax evader stand of. Usually there is around the clock live coverage of a stand off with police. The government doesn't want the people to be informed on this topic.
