I think you answered your own question. Put God first and your faith in him. Not in some chain letter (even if it promises good)or any other thing that puts fear in you. I personally throw them away or delete them as soon as I realize that is what it is. My faith and trust is in my Savior Jesus. I think your is too.

Here's what I ask myself: By what mechanism does a chain letter have any effect upon my life, or the lives of people around me? The answer is "no effect at all."
There is a certain logical error known by the Latin name "post hoc ergo propter hoc," which translates as "After this, therefore because of this." The accident happened after the chain letter arrived, and consequently was caused by the chain letter. I would ask whether there might have any less mysterious causes for the accident. Wet roads? Drunken driver? Distraction?
Of course, there is also the notion that "something terrible will happen within five days," being rather open to interpretation. Suppose that you poured sour milk into your coffee three days after having received the chain letter: Wouldn't that be "terrible?"
Chain letters are rubbish. Delete them or throw them away. They have no causative power, except to increase the number of stamps used and the amount of rubbish generated.

Equalist, You do not want children to starve to death or for little kittens to get turned into dogfood do you? Ok, then you read my answer, copy it and send it to 13 other contacts by noon today or I will rain down hellfire and brimstone on you and your contacts for teh next 13 days!!! Mark my words, it will be YOUR fault if you do not comply, Grrrrrrr!!!! Love, velaOK Chain letters are a joke from the desperate along the same lines as a Ponzi scheme. The ones I receive from co-workers at work are the worst...they almost always threaten my personal life if I don't "pray" or say "Jesus loves you" to everyone I see that day. What a crock, LoL!

i get many chains letters in my inbox, some even claimed it was from christians to spread the words of Jesus, and i supposed to spread it.
i'm a christian but i don't believe such junks, because my Lord is full of love, He will not ask His believers to do that. He is mightier then anything, why would I be afraid?
so I delete all that letters as soon i receive them and nothing ever happened to me til now.

I believe they are superstitious nonsense and rude. Friends of my wife were e-mailing chain letters to her on a regular basis. The contents always said things like, email this to 5 other friends and receive a blessing. Failure to do so will result in something terrible happening to you.
What a thing to send to a friend. Even though I don't believe in this, I asked her to tell her friends to stop sending this trash to us.

Sorry, chain letters are a joke and they scare people who are prone to worry about those things (I used to run an online group for people with depression, anxiety and panic).
I should also tell you that on the internet, despite the number we receive...they are illegal, just as in the real mail.
A chain letter is nothing, it can do nothing.

Regardless of one's beliefs, or lack thereof, chain letters are garbage, and should be thrown away immediately. The very idea of "bad luck" happening to someone who breaks the chain is ridiculous. I've broken many, many chain letters, and I'm still alive to tell the tale.

Chain mail has nothing to do with divination.
I have deleted/tossed away/ignored countless e-mails and snail mail letters, and I'm still here, never been hospitalized, etc. Your accident was just a coincidence. *Nobody* has to fear them.

They are a waste of time. The same goes for emails that say "God will bless you, but you have to send this to 10 people within the next 5 minutes." God doesn't work like that. I say trash them if paper and delete if an email.

We do not interpret God's Truth through our experience. We interpret our experience through God's Truth.
Chain letters created by human beings carry no power to do anything. The only person that has the power to change your future is you.... surprised? While God supplies the power and wisdom to change your life for the better only you have the power to choose to follow His directive.
Have no fear.
