its of a man painting on large canvas a woman standing behind in a white dress and lots of people watching wearing hats from 1800. also it seems to be in a studio or gallery, a little boy and a dog is also standing next to the painter. please help!!!!

I think possibly you are thinking of Courbet's Artist's Studio . The picture is an allogory or story of last seven years of Courbet's life. It was an extremely controversial picture and people said it was not just his friends and etc represented but political ideas about the French revolution and etc which I don't think Courbet ever addmitted to . This is rather a large subject and you would be better to look it up on Google.
