Even if you do not solicit them but, just seeing them can be damaging I believe because they may appear in your mind at any time unbidden and actually be torture for you because it exercises the sin within you. What is your opinion?

Sure it can be. I have struggled with pornography in the past. I asked God to remove those impure images from my mind and to place his Face on my mind instead. Many people will say that once you see an image it is eteched into your mind/spirit/soul. Yes it is, but you can ask God to literally remove that from your mind, and if you dont' readily bring up that image in your memory you can be purified from it.

My opinion does not matter. But the fact is that pornography shapes attitudes and influences behavior. Its messages are enticing primarily because they are fantasy and thus presented as more exciting than the real thing.“

Pornography can destroy trust and openness, essential qualities in a marriage. Because it is primarily viewed in secret, pornography use often leads to deception and lying. Mates feel betrayed. They do not understand why their marriage partner no longer finds them desirable.

Pornography destroys loving relationships. The apostle Peter, himself a married man, urged Christian husbands to assign honor to their wives. A husband who fails to do so will find that his prayers to God are hindered. (1 Peter 3:7) Would secretly viewing indecent images of women be treating one’s own wife honorably? How would she feel if she found out? And what would the God who will bring “every sort of work into the judgment” and who makes “an estimate of spirits” think? (Ecclesiastes 12:14; Proverbs 16:2) Could one who uses pornography have any reason to expect that his prayers would be listened to by God?

Its adultry. Remember that Jesus said that a man who even thinks a lustful thought is commiting adultry which is one of the 10 commandments. Thou shall NOT commit adultry. The devil uses this crap to make men and women fall into adultry and to break one of the 10 commandments. And why would someone be interested in something that is fake anyways? All that plastic surgery and fake everything? Why would someone be so interested in seeing somone who everyone has seen? Its so disgusting.

Let me ask you this...

If you're so concerned about being "damaged" somehow by a sexual image on a piece of paper or on a computer screen...

Are you married? Do you have sex with your husband? Do you do that only in a pitch dark room?

How could a erotic image harm you but not a live image of your partner, naked?

Or are you suggesting there is some sort of difference?

this is funny.
don't worry about religion...it is something that man made to entertain and control humans like a cattle herd.
and if its ok for your religion then it wont be ok for some other religion...which one to follow and why and how.
and the best answer you'll get is the bible or quran or some other novel....which is like the biblical version of harry potter.

It's all about intent. If a popup comes on your screen with pornographic images, I don't think God holds it against you. However, if you actively seek porn, that's another story.
