Depends where you live. If you live in a major metropolitan city, check out the garment district. You'll always find great deals. Friend of mine picked up nice bridesmaid dresses for her girls for only like $50 bucks a piece compared to $150 in the store. Hope this helps.

shop at stores that are not bridel stores, it seems that the word Bridal has the same dresses but a lot more money. Go to the mall or store that has summer dresses out and find your maids dresses there. You can also try sears for some options. But stay away from the bridal and bridemaids stores they will just end up costing you lots of money.

There are usually lots of cotton dresses in department stores around Easter. Anytime the words "wedding" or "bridal" come in the dollar signs go through the roof.

I bought my bridesmaid Dresses at David's Bridal, sometimes they have really good sales, some other place too look would be JC Penny, Dillards, Fashion Bug, Cato, DEB, Alloy.com, once in a while my local wal-mart will have season dress which look like really nice cocktail dress' for really cheap.

You should be able to find nice casual dresses at JC Penney in the junior section or Target in the junior section.

What if you let them pick their own dresses? Give them guidelines - i.e., sleeveless, ankle length, etc. - and then see what they come up with. That way they stand a better chance of getting a dress they'll wear again.

Find a pattern, and material and see if there is anyone in the family, or friends who could sew these for a descent price. Or check out eBay.
