If you are referring to a traveler's check paid to you about the only place that will take it will be a bank. It would be the same as someone writing you a personal check. They need a way to get their money back if there is a problem.

American Express Travellers Cheques are recognised around the world and can be used like cash in many locations, or exchanged for local currency at banks, foreign exchange bureaux and American Express. You can cash it at your bank or use it like cash when out shopping. Hope this helps.

Take them to your bank. If they are third party, stores and restaurants usually won't take them. A check cashing service would cash them, also, but they might charge as much as 10%.
