How long on average does the Direct deposit take from Federal refund, if we mailed the taxes in last week? He wouldn't efile because he said the gov't rips us off by charging a fee.

It will usually take about 4 weeks. Actually, the IRS doesn't charge a fee for e-filing. It is the service that transmits the data to the IRS that charges the fee.

FWIW, many states REQUIRE paid tax preparers that prepare more than X number of returns per year to e-file their returns.

He lied - there is no fee charged to the taxpayer by the government for efiling - in fact, they strongly encourage it. Possibly HE just didn't want to buy the software to allow him to efile returns - but if he doesn't have that, he's a pretty poor excuse for a tax preparer.

Mailing a return instead of efiling will add a couple weeks or more to the time to get your refund.

I e-filed my taxes on the 6th and I just got a note they would be direct deposited tomorrow. So it takes about 1.5 weeks from the time they actually get the return

listen, maximum banks received't instruct it in pending besides. also, maximum individuals of the time, the IRS does no longer transmit them in the midst of the nighttime (early as heck Fri morning). The very last couple of years we've had ours put in at about 8 or 9 in the morning. And only because it isn't showing as pending, does no longer advise it received't come, ours hasn't ever confirmed up in pending. they'd one of those number of ppl document early this 365 days like very last 365 days that they could no longer likely transmit all of them instantly. because of this some ppl were getting them in the approach the week. We were given ours early Thursday afternoon. they in elementary words do batches each and every few hours so it really is compared to they're continuously sending them! no matter if it isn't there yet, it does no longer be for some more desirable hours besides if u are between the ppl to get it early friday. very last 365 days some ppl did not get theirs on the first day of deposits till that nighttime. If united statesa. up all nighttime annoying and stressing about it, u received't have any skill to do something with it day after today! Get some sleep, dont complication, and awaken refreshed so u can easily wrestle the crowds if u plan on going procuring because day after today is going to be a negative day to attempt to save!

about 4 weeks. It can depend on when in the season you file (early = faster, later = longer because they're swamped).

4 to 6 weeks is the standard turnaround - direct deposit takes a week and a half off that.
