I have a cat, and she's been spayed. But every now and then she acts really lovey dovey. She rubs up against everything and stares all moony eyed out the window and meows constantly. Can a spayed cat still be in heat?

It's possible. Sometimes, some of the ovarian tissue may be missed during the spay surgery. That tissue can still cause the hormone surges that cause the 'heat' behavior. You can take your cat to the vet & get a blood test to check her hormone levels to see if that might be the problem.

Sometimes, cats just have a lovey personality, so this may be normal for her - just get her checked out by the vet to be sure.

confident, and spaying earlier the 1st warmth can grant the main wellbeing advantages. in many cases vets propose spaying/neutering between 4 and 6 months previous, or whilst the person canines tooth are available in in case you don't be conscious of her beginning date.

If the vet. left her ovaries (and only took out the uterus and tubes), then she will still go into heat.

Some animal activists think this method of spaying is more humane.
