A fundamentalist Christian is one who takes every single cryptic story the bible literally, like believing the world was created in 24-hour days; But the Bible has clearly stated what is right and what is wrong- that part isn't cryptic and pretty straight-foward, so listening to that part of the Bible wouldn't make me a fundamentalist Christian, just a Christian, and it's unfair to say otherwise.

Just because I don't rewrite what's right and wrong for my own convenience doesn't make me a fundamentalist- deal with it.

I am also Christian and I am also not fundamentalist. I think it is only a minority of non-Christians that can not differentiate between fundamentalism and mainstream Christianity. If someone is wrongly labeling you they are really just highlighting their own ignorance and prejudice.

I agree with you. Ignore Gary up there, who aparrently knows Christ's mind so well he can tell you exactly what He thought. Jesus didn't take everything literally...case in point, the Sabbath. He ate food and untangled a horse from a bush on the sabbath, and he also healed men. All of this counted as work, but He did it anyway, because He didn't take the scripture so literally that He would allow suffering to happen in front of Him if it required 'work' to stop it on the sabbath.

Plus, it's hard to call someone a fundamentalist who teaches in parables. If Gary's eye has caused him to sin, he should tear it out. Those are the words of Christ, and all good fundamentalists should be blind and hand-less.

Remove the plank from your eye!

I agree with you St-augustine was clear that some parts of the Bible - notably Revelation - were allegorical.

Why can't some believers see that?

don't worry about what people say you are. I don't even like calling myself a Christian. I follow Christ and believe in the Word, so call me what you want.

I believe the Word of God literally ...just like Jesus did...thus we are both proud to be called Biblical fundamentalist.
