What does this mean? I had a pin prick test done at an outdoor event done by a nurse who said my random blood glucose was 8.7 and then she got distracted and walked away so I have no ruddy idea what this means? She did write the figures on a card before she went so I know the info is correct although intelligible!!

When you eat something, your body should break it down and keep your blood glucose level constant,
A random blood glucose test is when your blood glucose level at any given time, this should always be below 10mmol/l
8.7 isn't particularly high, if you had eaten in the last hour or so it would be fine. If there was a problem then the nurse would have referred you so dont worry!
It doesn't mean that you are succeptible to diabetes, especially if you are young.
Diabetes type 1 comes on very quickly and you would show symptoms rapidly. It is much more common in young people
If you are older then diabetes type II is more commom, it comes on slowly and symptoms include tiredness, thirst, weeing a lot, itching down under & slow healing of wounds.
If you have any of these symptoms and are over 40 then go the docs, tell him/her that you've had a RBG of 8.7mmol/l and he/she will test your glucose when you haven't eaten, then give you food & check it again.

Random blood glucose as mentiomed is your blood sugar level at any certain time. If you had eaten few hours before such test, then 8.7 is not that high to give much concern. However, ifever you experience an increasing thirst or frequency in urination, then you have to check your fasting blood sugar. Otherwise if you feel you are just fine, then nothing to worry. As a rule be careful of your diet, it is for your health. See a doctor if it still worries you.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Random means occasionally or without preparation. You have got blood sugar level -156 gm/dL or 8.7 mmol/L (Normal should be below 140 mg/dL or 7.8 mmol/L). You met get diabetes in future. Please check your blood sugar (fasting) and 2 hours after taking breakfast (post prandial).
Please see the web pages for more details on Diabetes Mellitus.
