From experience, I suggest that you do not get your hopes up. I'm not saying that if you told your friend you like him, he would reject you- There's a possibility that he may say he likes you too. But, if he does say that he doesn't feel that way about you, you need to be prepared. As I'm sure you do not want to lose the friendship (because I didn't), you don't want to hold any bitterness towards him that would put a wedge between the two of you. Also, make sure that you're mentally ready to accept a rejection from him, because if you're not, then you won't be able to continue your friendship without that wedge of awkwardness and bitterness. It's not a good idea to ruin a nice friendship by trying something else....Trust me...I've done that...It turned up really bad...
