I cant help but notice that everyone is giving you Fast Food answers.
I am American. I eat burgers, about four times a year.
In general, we eat a lot of chicken or a fair amount of beef in an average dinner meal. Beside that is generally a serving of some starch (potato, rice, pasta, bread) and hopefully one or more servings of some vegetable.
At lunch, Americans generally eat some sandwich and/or soup/salad.
A typical weekend breakfast for Americans is pancakes (hotcakes, flatcakes, whatever) or french toast, or eggs, plus breakfast meat like bacon or sausage. During the week, Americans eat a lot of cold cereal and milk before running to work.
As a culture, we consume huge volumes of ice cream and other sweet foods.

well I´m not to sure about American people I know they like there beef burger´s they love steak , but I´m sure they eat many other food´s . Many moon´s ago when I worked in catering , a typical breakfast for the working man would be ( 2 eggs ,bacon, sausage, baked beans fried sliced bread, 2 toast & tea, lot´s of tea. People working in offices and and other buisnesses, would have for Pub lunches, ploughmans lunch , which is french bread cheese, & salad, or Sheperds pie,or just sandwiches, Sit down lunches , they might have the tradional roast beef with yorkshire pudding , potato´s & veg . or Roast Lamb but in general the English eat all types of food Italian , Chinesse, Spanish , Indian , they love there curry´s after a good night out on the beer, I hope this helps you a little, I´m off to make something to eat now all this talk about food has made me hungry
